The Fuse is such an intriguing board - please let me know how she goes. What dims? I have just pretty much turned over the quiver. Sold off most everything except a couple of standbys this last year and just got in: 10-4 Phillips SWT (my summer Ft. Pierce board) 10-1 Phillips Pig 10-0 1966 Harbour Trestle Special 9-2 McCoy 6-8 Boat Nosed Winged Keel Horan 6-6 Horan double ender (Fat Bastard) 6-6 McCoy/Horan original Lazor Zap Still to come: 10-0 1966 Surfboards Hawaii (my old one, I bought it back - getting some TLC at Austin's) 10-0 1966 Hansen 50/50 (also getting some Austin love) 10-0 1965 (?) Gordie Semi Pig 7-6 Weber Feather Fastback - custom - (replacement for my almost dead one; custom because I spec'd a denser foam and heavier glass schedule than their standard as my current one is so heavy from all the repairs; custom color goes without saying, I guess) A lot of new toys. Except for the 6-6 Zap and the Gordie (two boards I couldn't resist) I sold one to get one. I cannot really think of a board I'd like to sell at this point. I really like what I have and have a lot of boards to play on. Too many? Nah. |

I lost 25 lbs and thought I'd try my sons 9'4" but I felt like the board was gasping for air. I still need something thicker (his is 2 3/4" thick) as I'm still 235 lbs and dropping. The board was 9'4", pretty light, I'd guess at about 20 lbs. or so, and was very easy to adapt to. Slightly "piggish" attitude in its template (widest aft of center), flipped tail, with a moderately blended concave. It seemed to have the attributes to make it a good everyday longboard to me. After surfing it for a couple of hours in some small knee to hip, I liked it. It livened up on the better set waves, y'know, like the double over knee stuff. |

I think you're going to like that board a lot, this is my 6'4" Flying Floaty Fish and has been my go to board for over a year now. It can handle almost anything our FL waves can throw at it and I really have to make an effort to ride any of my other boards. Oh and thanks for posting your Nugget and Zaps, the FFF had really quelled my addiction to order another board until I looked at those. Along with a frustrating session of trying to drop in some chest high suck out beach break barrels. Need a board that has a bit more rocker and holds the face well during the drop. I don't feel bad though a lot of people who I consider very good surfers were getting their arses handed to them Image processing. Refresh page to view Image processing. Refresh page to view |
