This project focuses on some of the most interesting conceptual and technical trends in wood working over the last decades. It will include approximately 80 objects by artists, craftsmen and sculptors presented together in a provocative ways that beg the questions of genre divisions in art." http://olosurfer-woodensurfboardsatpipeline.blogspot.com/2011/08/olo-of-sun-to-feature-in-museum-of-arts.html

The boards are postmodern as their function is based on a pure surfing philosophy which discards the modernist social construct based perceived reality which has dominated 'modern' surfing for hundreds of years.

You will have one of your boards in the continental US. Now is when many who have wanted to surf one of your boards will have an opportunity. Who is willing to pick up the board host it for members of this forum to give it a try? While it's here we can arrange to have to moved to the west coast so those of us that have heard you for years can finally have an opportunity to ride one of you boards and confirm your boasts. Let's set up a schedule now so we can take advantage of this great opportunity. I'm assuming you will help us with this Roy, right? Can hardly wait.

There is no way Roy would let any of us ride that sculpture. When he let a profesional surfer ride one of his sculptures and gave a ride report, Roy claimed the pro wasn't riding the board properly. Roy lives in a perpetual state of Roy-ality...not reality.

No, it is correct: the exhibit is primarily about woodworking, not surfing. This makes sense as your skills are better suited to furniture making than surfboards. As a shaper, your designs are unqualified failures. They just don't work. Poor functionality does not make a board "post modern." In your case it makes it an over-priced, poorly designed piece of sh*t. My congratulations on being asked to contribute a sample of your work (although the curator said you submit a proposal for consideration, but hey, who wants to split hairs?). Again, I think you are a fairly talented woodworker, and even more talented self-promoter, but an absolutely talentless shaper. Cheers!

You see, the boards Royboy builds are actually created to market the kits. The Olo of Sh*t that was on ebay didn't sell with an asking price of what, like $100,000? I know that if I took the time and effort to make something like that, I would be hesitant to pass it around to individuals who might not take the care with it that the maker would. Not a Problem After giving this a little thought, if it was able to obtain in my possession for a little while (week and half tops) I would probably just do 1 demo per state with just 1 shop involved. I will throw in a few bucks to help with freight/shipping charges to get it here.

He will never let any of you be a caretaker to any of his boards. If people started riding them and found out that they ride like sh*t, he wouldn't sell any more of the plans for $99.00 US each! DUH! And plenty of shapers have demo days and such. Yet you clamor to suck at the teat or Roy despite the fact that he routinely insults you, fails to answer questions, denounces America, demeans all of your surfboard design choices and behaves like a full out prick! Bentley GT, huh? By the same logic, I don't need to own or even drive a Yugo to know that it is a piece of sh*t! Wait, Royboy! Your next board should be the "Resolute Yugo!" No charge and your are welcome, baby cakes! Now go play with your wood and let the adults talk.
