I always understood that the canted out fins will allow the board more side to side play (a good example of this is Akila Aipa's twin fin set which is more aggressive than many other twins), while the near vertical cant will provide a bit more speed in a straight line (which is what I tend to notice more with my LK and the Hanalei fins). The toed in front fins and close clustered rear fins should help offset the wide tail and high concave bottom, but that's not something I ever noticed with mine. It always required more effort, vs a more traditional single concave on a HPSB. Admittedly, I've never tried using regular quads on these, so I should probably give that a go too when I finally get a fun sized swell to test these fins. Comparison on the board (which is sort of trippy, it almost looks like the Hanaleis are canted out more because of the tips):
