Waves are an amazing and finite resource, yet they have only gotten cheaper. Financial costs: declining ($99 foamie at a Walmart near you!) Social costs: declining (nobody gonna heckle you anymore) Physical costs: declining (that buttery Yamomoto rubber, Gath/Oakley/whatever brain bucket, floatation devices...) Want fewer crowds? Make the waves more expensive...or seek out more expensive waves (NIHI Sumba, Abu Dhabi surf mecca, [redacted super secret surf gang controlled spot], Iceland, whatever)...it's capitalism, baby |
