Super fun easy riding board but very chunky and not refined like the Lo Pro different shapers. Engle-Apex from California Chizza-Lo Pro from Torquay near Bells. Never surfed Californian waves but they look pretty rolly so thinking the Apex has more volume and chunk to suit those waves. Please correct me if am wrong. Chizza's boards shaped for Southern Ocean powered waves. I know there is cross over but I find the Lo Pro can handle bigger more solid waves than the Apex with so much more sensitivity in feed back through your feet and ankles which I found the Apex didnt have. Mind you I am surfing the Poly version which Chizza prefers. Click to expand... In my limited opinion, that sounds about right to me. But I guess the shaper would be happy to shape a board any way the rider wants. CJ has the advantage of calling on two super talented shapers who as you've pointed out have extensive experience shaping boards for specific wave types. Chizza could probably shape one of the worlds best soft wave logs and Ryan an amazing super power hp board for the meanest of North Shore days, but their talents find their groove shaping boards for conditions where the majority of their market live and surf. What's your main board now? |
