328800 17470 New CJ model - Slasher Low Pro 44 RockyIsland Oct 31, 2024 2024-10-31T17:04:58-0400 ugoinright? said: I've tried a 9'6 Slasher in TB Silver a couple of times. Stable, easy to noserider and whippy. However, I feel like there is a drag when paddling. I think it might be the tail kick, which causes me to position more toward the nose. I had the same issue with the Neo Classic in TB Silver. I'm about 185lb at 5'9. I got a chance to surf CJ's personal 9'8 Slasher in full carbon. The tail kick is not as pronounced as the production version. It was balanced. Felt very neutral when paddling without any drags. Still easy to noseride and whip around. This is what's holding me off on getting the production version. Does anyone else feel the drag when paddling on the Slasher? Click to expand... My 20 pounder paddles really well. Had 2 sessions on it yesterday and you can really go for the nose in very sucky sessions and it will hold in. Inspires confidence and will reward if you go for it I find. Dosen' like to be surfed cautiously. Has gears I haven't even put it into yet. My mate has a poly version too and it's lighter than mine with an inch smaller pod. Some variation in off the rack poly versions hand shaped in Oz.
