A few of my friends on either side of the polictical spectrum were really whipped up about this or that, and unhappy because of it, but they were in the minority. Everyone is really aware of the realities of traffic, high cost of living, etc., and that is what it is. That being said, from my brother to my folks to most of my good friends - in terms of their actual quality of daily life - they are super aware of being in a place that allows so much, and so much of it is so accessible... Good surf, good fishing, great food, insane weather, the list goes on. Geez, dawn patrol and then a lagoon hike with the kids? Sounds good! Pretty easy to get out in the back country in real terms if you need some space. Somebody always has a boat for an offshore run to dive or fish... bitchin'! Or just walking around North County with my dad who's in his eighties and can do more outside because the climate is so mellow. That made me happy in and of itself. Those who were focused on what they can actually do, and making the most of that with their family and friends, were as stoked as ever. Click to expand... So agree with "aware of the realities." Regardless of your politics, you know it's limited supply and high demand. You get to justify if it's worth it to you. Just like that Takayama!
