Looks great to me | 60 | Qustom | Oct 30, 2023 | 2023-10-30T01:41:13-0400 | ks77 said: Ya, I'm struggling to reconcile the complaints and concerns about a 6/6 and 6 oz glassing schedule with my own experience. I have 3 boards with this schedule between 9' and 10'6 and two glassed by Laresse laminations and one by Michael Miller and they are holding up excellently. I'll admit I don't know the foam density on each. So, seems to be more at play here than just the the weight of the glass. Click to expand... Well one factor (that has probably already been stated by others but I jumped in midstream) is that they are most likely using very close tolerant blanks needing very little machining, making the glass job pretty much right over the crust of the bread rather than the soft doughy middle. And if it's a heavier weight than standard foam, factor that in too. But as somebody said earlier, where's the soul in it? To me the goal should be an $800-$900 spare board to use as a backup should your main rides be out of commission, crowded spots/weekends/Halloween days, loaning out to friends, etc. Not to say it can't perform, and I'm sure there some who would prize it as their daily, but there's a reason mass market goods are generally less expensive - it's called supply and demand. |
