It went good but was a bit thicker and fuller overall than a thin man. More foam to the rail and a thicker tail and a little bit wider nose than the thin man. Solid board but I like the thin man more. I have mine with small skip thrusters and sometimes use TA boomerangs to mix it up. The longer length allows me to trim out and let it run easier while the thruster keeps it maneuverable. In my mind it would be similar to like a fish Simmons at that length (8’) and it does like when you can have some power in the wave as the tail is very thin and not super wide and the nose width is similar to like a pulled in magic or similar. Ridden it at beach breaks and reefs from like knee to about shoulder/head high so far. It’s an all time and special board for me and while the modern machine was really good also it didn’t give me the same feeling the thin man does. But I’ve always had a soft spot for thin man style shapes so that could play a part. |
