It's an amazing board and is the yardstick by which I measure all other fish. Not that I've ridden a ton of them, but I've been on a few others and just didn't get along with them like I do with the Larmo. It is shockingly fast -- so much so that if I haven't ridden it in a while, my first wave usually involves the board rocketing out from under me like I slipped on a banana peel. When I started shaping, my fish had quite a few repairs done over the years, so I was coming to grips with the reality that it would have a finite lifespan. My goal was to be able to spin up a clone of that board (I think at the time he had retired or stopped shaping). I made two -- one for myself and one for a buddy. I came pretty close, but the rails just aren't quite the same. Just couldn't get them quite as nice as he does. |
