I like the guy in many ways, I like a lot of his boards and I like the handshaping business incubator idea. On the flip side, it is both risky and disrespectful to claim full ownership of designs, even down to specific planshapes. I have a Rolf Aurness-designed triplane 7'9 pintail that was shaped by the late Scott Anderson around 20yrs ago. I'm pretty sure I don't recall Scott, or Rolf for that matter, claim ownership of that design. What's the saying? Walk softly and shape a great stick, or something like that... Click to expand... Agree 100% Dude can blow smoke marketing wise but it boils down to originators of certain designs and how variations have evolved since. #1 poor quality IMO. outside of the egotistical, snarky design opinions I don't believe he's a bad dude. Tbh wouldn't pay legend prices (Wayno/andreini) for a board shaped by him and never will. If I want something in that realm id go the trimcraft route. Which I have in the past and haven't had problems with the design characteristics, although on the topic of this thread I'd go f/m route from Lovelace over the power cat from trimcraft if I was considering a board like that.
