I really like rolled bottom boards that you can subtly surf with just fine ankle movements which is what I love about the Gato Heroi Playboy.....lots of feedback through the feet. Not a big fan of deep nose concave and super wide platform noses as we get a lot of wind and I find sometimes its hard to get down the face. Its interesting that Ben has put the concave more in the middle of the board and less in the nose according to the the Video. I have only seen photos on line so hard to tell how the bottom contours look. Fascinated to have a go as I really like where Ben is coming from in his approach. TBs are hard to get in Oz but sounds like my local shaper mate is getting one in as a demo. Looking forward to your report cheers Click to expand... I "think" the bottom is concave for about 2/3 then a slight roll then concave again out the back. If you search, I started a thread a couple of years ago called I think "logs with concave bottoms" that has some info about one of my boards and where I saw the idea that predates the cherry picker! I actually rode the board in that thread a lot again recently. It's really fun. |
