Would you say that's a thumb tail? Another hesitation with a twin pin is the tail in smaller stuff… suspect it'd be hard to pump on: not much of a platform for speed generation. Another board thats appealing is the lane splitter from Christenson. Seems like he's figured out the best of both from the reviews I've read. Not sure that's worth the $1500 or whatever the hell a custom christenson is gonna cost haha Click to expand... I think the shape called it a rounded squash but essentially it's the same thing. This was a full custom so I had several phone calls talking the shape over including one after I'd seen the first cut from the machine. Essentially the shaper already had a slightly rounder nosed version. We kept the tail shape like that to give it more low end but pulled the nose for reduced swing weight and aesthetics too if I'm honest. Realistically it's not gonna get used in stand up barrels so I felt a full pin wouldn't gain much and would lose smaller wave drive like you say. Lane splitter looks like it has similar ideas but tops out at 6'0 Back on topic, it'd be interesting to have an episode where you compared all the different mids you've had on. |
