| 207011 | 10035 | Surf Mats... What's the Deal? | 34 | XXX | May 11, 2021 | 2021-05-11T18:40:38-0400 | 'a viable option for knee high choppy shore pound?' More knowledgeable folks will likely weigh in, but I'll give my dos centavos. Chop is no problem, but any time I take my mat into conditions that require rapid acceleration from the take-off I struggle. Maybe I need bigger flippers or a different technique. If it's over knee high then the drop will give you a quick squirt, but if you're in a shore pound you may not have time to turn that into a worthwhile ride. I recently started carrying a boogie board with me and, though it's rarely my first choice, it's a more versatile option. The PE versions are totally adequate and affordable. |
