200416 2487 Magic Sam ride reports.. 125 Wadeinthewater Mar 5, 2021 2021-03-05T13:08:29-0500 Works best in small waves for me, I'll take a stab at a "ride report".....Talking about my McTavish Involvement Model. 9'2"and as I said earlier, very little nose rocker, nice kick in the tail with the wide point aft and I guess you could say soft knife rails. Board turns really well from the hips, super nice feel when you are doing a fading turn as you can really feel the wider hips and the less volume up front combining to give the board a wippy feel...in other words it comes around nicely. It also doesn't hurt that the minimal nose rocker lends itself to great paddling and entry speed for getting in to the wave early. It really magnifies the feeling of a log (momentum and glide) with a lot of maneuverability off the tail.....I live in Hawaii so I only ride it in small waves, I like a slightly narrower tail in head high waves or by then I'm usually stepping down (up?) to a midlength....
