I'll give it to you straight: I can tell you that the "media hype" refrain is sooooo two weeks ago. No one is talking like that around here this week, except maybe one guy that I know who is a completely clueless idiot. (And even he is starting to take it seriously by now.) We're at 1,327 cases this week, up from 15 less than 2 weeks ago. Data from Johns Hopkins University, not the "mass media". Your outlook on this is going to change quickly and you'll realize how silly it is to distrust mass media when basically everyone else on earth has already experienced this. You should take it seriously, both for yourself and to be socially responsible for others. To give you a more personal case, I know a woman whose husband has it. He looked healthy and was out in public 3 days before he suddenly landed in the hospital with pneumonia. The woman said he was in really bad shape and that she was scared. Radio silence from her on FB ever since. |
