Relaxing in the early evening sun post Friday's session on the 5'6 in pretty bowley onshore beach break. A case of finding the gems with a cleanish face shoulder between the closed out ones I'm still slightly buzzing from one of the big drop to hard bottom turn to swoopy cutback combos. Just got a film roll developed from my Holga - you can tell it's not digital from the wonky horizon! This guy is leaving the water at La Sauzaie in vendee France after dawn patrol as I turned up to check it. He was ripping - mostly backside. The wave is an a frame reef that breaks over a flat rock shelf about 50 yards to the left of the edge of the picture. It's pretty unusual to see anyone riding anything other than a short board, SUP or HP longboard around here. I've been over about four times and each year my selection of "alternative " boards and logs draws comment in the line up.
