| 100038 | 2802 | Bing Pintail Lightweight | 1 | newlyn | Jul 25, 2016 | 2016-07-25T14:16:36-0400 | My search for a new board has, admittedly, been dragging on forever. By way of recap, I started surfing three years ago, I am 41, 5'10 and about 190 lbs. I surf exclusively NJ beach break. I have been doing well with my 8'2 Austin stubby, and I am looking for something a bit longer to get into waves earlier. At the same time, I want something that will be somewhat forgiving on steep drops, so a bit of extra nose rocker perhaps. I don't have any real aspirations to become a noserider (although I do try to shuffle up there every once in a while), so I think a somewhat narrower nose would be better for me. I am hard on decks, so I am looking for something durable. I was close to buying an epoxy popout magic model, but just couldn't bring myself to do it. So, now I am looking at an extra-volan glassed Bing Pintail Lightweight. The board is definitely heavy, so the "lightweight" is a misnomer. Dimensions are 9'8" x 23 1/8 x 3 3/16. Advice and reviews appreciated. Also, curious how the Bing 3 stringer compares. Much appreciated. |
