No surf where I was, but we took a shuttle to Tamarindo one day so I could squeeze in a little surf session. We did a fun little excursion one day: zip lines, horseback riding, hot springs, and a crazy waterslide through the jungle where you have to wear a helmet and a rubber diaper to ride it. We still talk about that waterslide. Surprisingly, the best part was the horseback ride. Besides clomping through streams on some really neat, tight rain forest trails, it was my first time on a horse and was a lot more fun than I thought it would be controlling the big beast. I think the excursion was called Buena Vista if you want to look it up. The cool thing about Costa Rica is that there's plenty to do and you can have a much or as little adventure as you'd like.
