I think a couple of key features are the flat bottom wing nose and the reverse rocker, with extra kick in the tail. I haven't ridden any of the modern Competitors, but I have checked them out in the shop. The new ones don't have a wing nose and the rocker profile looks different. If I was after a new board that was similar to the vintage Competitor, I go to an experienced shaper and have it custom shaped.
