Toby was cool, always a little different but made me some really good boards. Mostly shortboards and bonzers. This was around 1990 or so. In 2005 He came by the TRANSWORLD offices and we bumped into each other and chatted. He said he shaped a fish recently and thought of me and I should go by moonlight and get it. Free shaped blank.\n\n\n\nI was stoked to see him and very appreciative of his offer so i went by and talked to Peter about this board. That\u2019s when I had heard about some of the stuff with glass shops dealing with unpaid bills etc. I got the board, paid Peter and Sally for the glass job and it was the absolute best surfboard I\u2019ve ever ridden. Like not even just the best fish, best board ever. It went in everything from 2-10\u2019 - completely blew my mind.\n\n\n\nSo with all that said. All the stories, all the drama, all the bad, I\u2019ve only had good experiences with him and his boards were always impeccable.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI think it\u2019s a choose your own adventure when it comes to who you choose to get boards from. I only want to ride boards that speak to me and if it\u2019s a custom, I only want to to get boards from people I really like. That energy is real.
