Surf buddy of mine from Dana Point (retired) bought here five years ago.  A complete remodel for 260K.  I thought if I were to leave the PNW (going on 50 years now) and moved back to California for surf, this would be the place.  Good amenities, Emerald Isle Golf Course (if your into banging a little white ball around) a great little cafe with great burgers and beers, and drum roll please..............................within a half an hour of San'O (if the traffic allows).  Down side, fires.  Being next to Pendleton and sitting on a dry arid mesa without a safe zone around it would be concerning.\n        \n\n\nClick to expand...\n\n\n\n\nAlthough I haven't lived in that area since the age of 12, I still like that North County vibe.  I was down there last year and although it has grown a lot, it was still really cool. That to me is what is important.
