In fact I think the media is doing a poor job of letting us know what's going on in other countries, like Italy, that might \"scare\" people in the US to get in line.  There are still too many people thinking this is nothing.  Although several people that felt that way last week are now making masks, are concerned for their safety and are doing the right things.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI know of two people directly that have/had it.  One is a coworker and he's been battling it at home on his own in France as the hospitals in his area are full.  Says it's the worst flu he has ever experienced.  Spiking fever, feels like he was hit by a bus, short of breath.   Another is a surf friend.  His boss brought it back from a trip to Italy and passed it to him and his team member.  I think he's fully recovered, fever, aches, cough, etc.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA friend of a friend passed away this week from respiratory failure, no test taken. A friend of a friend saw a guy die at the gym when he coughed up blood, no idea about a test at this point.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI'm taking every precaution here for my family and most importantly the community.  We've had several deaths where they tested positive.  There's also a bus driver that tested positive this week and we expect more cases stemming from that.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI'm really upset about people I know that are thumbing their nose at this.  They can't explain who is in control in their conspiracy theory and why the entire world is shutting down and how someone in control might be doing that.  The easy answer is this is a pandemic, like the world has seen before, and it needs to be dealt with.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are going to see large increases this week.  Areas that are behind the times like Florida, TN, Texas, etc will likely have large case numbers in the coming weeks.  I'm really worried about NYC and LA, so many people in a small area.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI have a doctor friend that has been helping a group of us by answering questions and he expects his area to get bad next week.  They are already rationing supplies in prep for it. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI'm currently feeling less than 100%, in complete isolation, not leaving the house for two weeks.  It could be nothing, but not risking it in the community.  Do whatever can in your own communities to improve the situation.  Help others understand why they should be distancing and staying at home.
