The standard glass (6 + 6 deck patch?) is sufficient, and keeping the board on the lighter side allows you (me) to get into the turn much quicker, especially on beach break.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI have a 9'6 and am of similar physical dimensions as you.  I only reach for the PTLW for reef breaks when i'm pretty certain its going to have some juice, but i actually think it is a great option for beach break when it is smaller (~3 ft) and kind of steep/pitchy, as it often is at the beach.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you are looking to stay with a longboard for beach break, i don't think you can go wrong with a PTLW.  Give it a shot, if it doesn't work for you, you can easily re-sell it (see #2 from \"Not alone\" thread!)."]], "columns": ["post_id", "thread_id", "thread_title", "post_number", "author_username", "post_date", "post_date_iso", "post_body"], "primary_keys": ["post_id"], "primary_key_values": ["100064"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.6345260007947218, "license": "Public Domain"}
